TO: ALL USERS OF THE BRIDGEWATER MUNICIPAL PARKING LOT
FROM: Mayor James T. Dowden
SUBJECT: Parking
DATE: SPRING, SUMMER, FALL 1996 =====================================================================
There has been an overwhelming response to and use of the KidStreet Park facility. While the Township is pleased to have this facility available to its citizens, the following information is brought to your attention in order to assist in KidStreet being a safe fun place to visit.
a) Access to the parking lot is through the well-marked entrance at the West end of the Municipal Building.
b) The traffic flow, also well identified, is one-way throughout, must be followed and must keep the 5 MPH limit.
c) We have observed several youngsters leaving their own vehicle while the adult with them attends to another child or the items which will be used for the youngsters. All adults are requested to be extremely aware of the children's activities as well as moving vehicles and to keep control of their children so they don't become injured.
d) As you enter the Municipal Building area keep your speed limit to 5 MPH, be alert for vehicles that may be entering or leaving a parking space and be especially aware of any children who may be running loose.
e) Employee Parking, Handicapped Parking and Municipal Vehicles Parking areas are identified by various signs. While these are self-explanatory and must be observed, some visitors to KidStreet are parking in spaces marked "Parking For Municipal Building Only". These spaces are for visitors who must conduct business with the Township and are not to be used by KidStreet visitors.
f) The parking for KidStreet visitors is also very clearly identified and is the area closest to the facility itself; overflow spaces will be available at Basilone Field.
g) If you do use the Basilone parking, you are asked to also use the sidewalk from that area, cross at and with the traffic light at the Commons Way and Garretson Road intersection and continue on along the sidewalk in front of the Municipal Building.
h) All departures from the Municipal Building area are to be from Claude Drive at the East end of the lot; please note, this is a one-way exit.
i) As there are designated eating areas at the KidStreet site, there should be no problem with not bringing food into the Park itself.
j) The toilet facilities at KidStreet have been provided for the use of visitors to that Park. Ladies' and Mens' Rooms in the Municipal Building are limited to employees.
k) Your cooperation in using the Park's trash cans will go a long way towards keeping it clean, neat and sanitary.
Compliance with all of the above will contribute to a safe, enjoyable KidStreet as well as to the Township continuing to conduct its activities in a successful businesslike manner.
